Event Details

MOUND MUSEUM LECTURE SERIES SPOTLIGHTS

Summary

Global Manufacturing Solutions was founded as a start-up business on the Mound plant site in 1996 as part of the initial commercialization efforts. The founders were Dr. Charles Woods and Bill Bankes. There will be a summary of the company history of development projects and EPS production. The company spun off a foam shaping capability that grew into a manufacturing facility that serves 7 markets for EPS shapes. These include investment casting patterns, architectural shapes, concrete forms, signs, displays, packaging, and models for product development.

A short documentary will be shown called “Red to Bronze” produced by the Reds Hall of Fame to illustrate the process for production of the Reds Sculptures.
