A History of the Mound Amateur Radio Association and an Overview of Amateur Radio

The Mound Amateur Radio Association (MARA) was founded at the Mound Laboratory in 1962, by a group of forward-looking employees. They combined their love of ham radio with the need of Mound to communicate with both local and national organizations in times of emergency.

Harry “Jack” Melke
Harry “Jack” Melke began his career at the Mound Laboratory in March of 1969, after graduating from “The Dayton Technical Institute”, with an Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering.
