EMERGENCY RESPONSE ON-SCENE COORDINATOR WITH OHIO EPA — Many environmental spills are reported to Ohio’s Protection Agency each year. Learn how Ohio’s Emergency Response On-Scene Coordinators respond and coordinate with other agencies during some very tense moments. Dale Farmer, Lead On-Scene Coordinator, is the special guest speaker at the MOUND SCIENCE & ENERGY MUSEUM, on Wed. January 27, 2016, and he will discuss these emergency situations. Program will start at 7:00 PM. MOUND SCIENCE AND ENERGY MUSEUM is located at 1075 Mound Rd, in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Mr. Farmer has been an Emergency Response On-Scene Coordinator with Ohio EPA’s Division of Environmental Response, Investigations and Enforcement for 24 years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1983. During his college years Dale worked as a pipeliner with SOHIO Pipeline where he gained experience in pipeline safety and responding to and cleaning-up oil spills. Dale began his career with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in 1984 and worked as a Park Ranger at Shawnee, Little Miami Scenic Trail, Caesar Creek and Hueston Woods State Parks. He transferred to Ohio EPA in 1991. During his time at Ohio EPA Dale responded to over 3,500 spills of oil and hazardous materials. He is a member of several county Local Emergency Planning Committees, The Greater Cincinnati Alliance for Chemical Safety, Greater Cincinnati Hazardous Materials Control Committee and the Ohio River Focus Group. He was promoted to Lead On-Scene Coordinator in 2010 and, in addition to responding to spills, is involved with program process improvement and mentoring across the state.

Mr. Farmer’s speech kicks off MOUND SCIENCE AND ENERGY MUSEUM’S Eleventh Year of WEDNESDAY NIGHT INFORMATIVE TALKS.
